“The professional ballet dancers Myrna Kamara and Gabriel Stoyanov have recently been up to accomplishing a new and fascinating project. However, this time, the aim was not to choreograph an extraordinary piece of art, but to transport an important message. They portray the violence, the cruelty and the discrimination we observe in our society, that negatively impacts the quality of our lives and you can imagine from the end of the video – living in Piece”

“I’m not different for the sake of being different, only for the desperate sake of being myself. I can’t join your gang: you’d think I was a phony and I’d know it.”

Vivian Stanshall

Clearly, society’s categories for what is masculine and feminine are unrealistic. They may not capture how we truly feel, how we behave, or how we define ourselves. All men have some co-called feminine traits, and all women have some co-called masculine traits. And we may show different traits at different times. Our cultures teach women and men to be the opposite of each other in many ways. The truth is that we are more alike then different.

I’m happy to explore the diversity between masculinity and femininity and to bring all that in my work.

Masculinity vs. Femininity

Ballet is an incredibly difficult, beautiful art form that takes a lot of training, a lot of time, and a lot of hard work. Every ballet lesson, whether or not successful artistically or technically, has given me something important. Ballet isn’t pop culture, after all; it is an art of the chosen few, a selected elite, for those who understand it; and it is also an art that you have to learn and study.

Thanks so much to all my teachers for everything, they’ve given me. I understood to never give up on what I really want to do.

The person with big dreams is more powerful …
